After The Big Ballet tremendous success across many UK venues this year, the ballet promoter Alexej Ignatow director of Amande Concerts still keeps receiving many rapturous responses from British public, eager to see this fabulous show again next year! No wonder, this Russian ballet has no analogies in the world so far and is purely the result of late influential Russian choreographer Panfilov's experiment of the human body!

The Big Ballet in the BIC Pavillion

Back in 1993, local media reported on female dance enthusiasts - each weighing more than 100 kilos - being enrolled to the new dance team. Many of those auditioning were ordinary women who were tired of the taunts about their size and were suffering from low self-esteem. It was Panfilov's genius ideas that enabled him to take these dejected and novice dancers and equip them with the training and confidence to become a proudly professional dance troupe.

Now their grace and passion for dance win audiences' hearts at first glance, and forever. The Big Ballet breaks all common notions of what choreography should be like; a grand and marvellous phenomenon, huge and impressive, akin to a hurricane.

Performing together with "Fighting club" Dance Company they produce a "smashing cocktail" of Hits where audience is presented with an unforgettable fantasy from the land of sultans, luxurious palaces and harems; shares the nomadic life of gypsies, full of vibrant colours, music, wild dances and freedom; experiences the whole range of love, both tenderly sweet and burning hot; to the little red dresses, high heels and red lips of the ladies with capital "L" who have a business of their own. The wonderful music complements the magic of the dancers perfectly and exudes optimism!
