Winner of The Daily Echo's Best Bar None Award for the best bar in Bournemouth. Ibar is one of the few independent bars in town and runs a whole range of great alternative music nights.

Live bands go down a storm, whether its Electro, Indie, Punk, Metal or something more off the wall, the basement lends itself to a great atmosphere, with awesome visuals accompanying the bands you cant help but enjoy yourself.

Ibar has some great club nights too whether you like Electro, DnB, Bassline, Dubstep, Indie, Trance, House, whatever, there's guarenteed to be a night for you.

Upstairs, if your not being entertained by one of the Ibar resident Dj's you can select the music you listen to on a custom FREE jukebox, which has a really great selection of non commercial music and even a section for local artists/bands to keep you up to date on local music scene. Although your unlikely to find RnB or Led Zeppelin anywhere contrary to the rumours.

Drinks prices vary with the night but compared to most town centre venues their a snip with deals on every night like £1.50 shots and double ups for £1.20 not to mention the nightly 2-4-1 cocktail promo with real cocktails not the generic rubbish found in other venues. Throw in some £1.50 student nights and you cant lose.

Range of drinks is extensive, whether its spirits, beer or cider there's plenty to choose from.

All in all in this day and age, where selling out to the masses seems to be the norm for so many local venues its rare to find a bar that specialises in being different, but in Ibar we have one at our fingertips.

Expect BIG things in the future, thats what I say.

Good ideas, as you can choose the music using the big touch screen, and instead of the usual RnB bollocks you hear everywhere there's a mix, from good club tunes, RnB and even Led Zeppelin.

Problem is, it's really small, the drinks are pretty damn expensive, they have a rubbish range of drinks which all ran out quickly even though it was only half-full (and only Asahi beer remained, and that sucks).

It's good as a live venue for the local bands, but not worth a visit otherwise. It's just too expensive.
